Meeting Update

Last night members of the youth group met in the youth office from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm for a time of prayer, discussion, and planning on service opportunities for the upcoming year. This year the youth will be engaged primarily in two parish ministries: Door-to-Door Evangelization and Confirmation Preparation. Two hand-outs were given describing what is entailed in both of these ministries. Please obtain and read them if you were unable to attend last night.

Toward the end of the session, the youth were told that if they felt called to serve in these ways this year, they needed to make a real commitment and be faithful to it. Those who stepped forward to give of themselves in service to their brothers and sisters were the following...

I know that other members of the youth group are also planning on helping, but were unable to attend the meeting. We need to meet with you and go over what was discussed last night and find our what you are committed to doing. In addition, because the burden of responsibility for organizing, planning, and executing the group activities for Confirmation Preparation will fall mainly to the youth group, two coordinators were elected to be responsible for organizing the members of the youth group involved, making phone calls, etc. They are Kim Gurrola and Kerin Mendez.

Finally, the first date for Door-to-Door Evangelization will be September 12 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. This ministry will take place every other Saturday (twice a month). The Confirmation classes also begin on September 12. The Amigos who will be assisting are asked to arrive by 3:45 pm. Class begins at 4:15 pm and ends at 5:45 pm. Holy Mass at 6:00 pm will follow.
