Catechesis on the Truth

The Amigos de Jesus youth group met in the Hope Room at Annunciation Church on Friday, January 8 in their first full meeting of the new year. The meeting opened with prayer, followed by an engaging ice-breaker led by Alejandra.

Afterward, the youth received the first in a four part catechesis on moral issues facing young people in contemporary culture. The catechesis was an outlining of the basic moral principles of natural law and divine revelation, their source and origin in God, and the means by which truth can be known and applied in the proper formation of one's conscience.

After the catechesis the youth broke up into three groups and discussed a moral dilemma, using the principles learned in the catechesis to try to arrive at the proper response.

The session, as always, ended in prayer. It was great to see some new faces at the youth group this evening and a joy to welcome back all of our familiar friends. Below are photos of the evening. God bless you during the upcoming week!
