Catechesis on Creation

>> Saturday, January 16, 2010

The Amigos de Jesus youth group met in the basement of Annunciation Catholic School on January 16 for the second part of a four part catechetical series based on Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body. After reviewing the topic of the previous session, you were presented with a summary of the late pope's teaching on the story of Genesis and how it relates to human sexuality and marriage. Many of the youth were eager to ask questions regarding threats to the sanctity of marriage. As promised, that topic will be addressed fully in our next session.

At the beginning of the catechesis, the youth prayed for a member of the group who was in the hospital with a serious infection. Alejandra was with him at the hospital and for that reason was unable to be present for the session.

Thank so much to all of the youth from Amigos de Jesus who showed up on Saturday evening to help out with the Confirmaion classes. Your time and talents are truly appreciated!

Below is a slide show presentation of some of the images from Friday evening.

God bless you all!

P.S. On Sunday, January 16, Amigos de Jesus will attend Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M.Cap. Mass begins at 6:30 p.m. Youth are asked to be at Annunciation by 5:30 p.m. We should be back at the parish afterward no later than 8:30 p.m.

P.P.S. Amigos de Jesus is now on Facebook. You can view more photos, find out about upcoming events, and participate in online discussion. Check it out at Amigos de Jesus - Facebook
