Pizza and Games

The Amigos de Jesus youth group met for their regular session on Friday, February 5 in the Hope Room at Annunciation Catholic Church. It was another of the large gathering that have become common for the parish youth group and had two special guests. The pastor, Fr. Francisco Ramirez stayed for the entire session and took the opportunity to answer questions from youth about his experience of parish life, its joys and difficulties, as well as a reflection on his own vocation to the priesthood.

The second special guests was Maria, the new youth ministry director. Maria, a native of Mexico, is a newcomer to Denver. She, her husband, and three children relocated to Colorado from their former home in Arizona. They are still adjusting to the climate. Amigos de Jesus is excited to greet this newest member of the youth ministry team.

After several sessions of "heavy" material on truth, marriage, and sexual morality, this session was much more light-hearted. Most of the time was taken up with personal sharing and games, but plenty of time was left over to dig into the pizza.

Below is a slide show presentation of images from the evening. Be sure to check out our Amigos de Jesus Facebook Group as well. It is growing in size and has lots of pictures, news on upcoming events, and discussion topics. I have also put up a video clip from Friday's youth group icebreaker which can be viewed under "videos" on the Facebook page. The Facebook group is private and you will need a Facebook account to view. If I have your email, you should have received an invitation to the group. If you did not, sign in to your Facebook account and click here: Amigos de Jesus Facebook Group. Click "Join the Group" and you will be granted approval soon after.

God bless you all!
Br. Joseph
