A Session on the Stations

>> Saturday, February 20, 2010

The youth from Amigos de Jesus youth group met for their regular weekly session on Friday, February 19 in the Hope Room at Annunciation Church. The meeting began with prayer, after which the youth divided into two teams for some good, old-fashioned Catholic trivia. The game came down to a tie-breaker within team II edging out a slight victory.

Afterward, the youth picked roles as narrators and actors in the two upcoming Stations of the Cross which Amigos de Jesus will perform during the Lenten season. The Amigos de Jesus Stations will be on Friday evening, March 5 in English. The second youth group Stations will be in Spanish on March 19. The youth spent the rest of the session planning and rehearsing the various scenes and readings for the Stations of the Cross.

On Saturday evening a number of youth from Amigos de Jesus were on hand to help lead activities and teach the three Confirmation Year II classes. Afterward, members of the youth group filled in with their usual role as greeters, ushers, and gift-bearers for the youth Mass at 6:00 p.m.

(NOTE: Previously I has posted here that our next session, Feb 26, would be at 3:00 pm. This was a mistake. Our session will be at the regular time - 5:45 pm)

Below is a slide show presentation of images from Friday and Saturday evenings. For more photos, as well as video clips, discussions, and new on upcoming events, visit the Amigos de Jesus Facebook Group.

Thanks for all that you do and for your commitment to live your faith with seriousness.

God bless you,
Br. Joseph
