Bowling, Bowling, Bowling...

Taking a break from their last three weeks rehearsing and performing the Stations of the Cross, the Amigos de Jesus youth group had fun night out bowling at Monaco Lanes. Although only about fifteen youth were anticipated, nearly thirty arrived at the parish for bowling on Friday evening. It took five cars to get everyone there in time to start bowling at 7 p.m.
The youth picked out their bowling shoes, selected their balls, and were given lanes 27 through 31 on which to play and two full hours of bowling. After an initial warm up round the friendly competitions were ready to begin. The youth had time for about two games before the first four pizzas were delivered to lane-side (cheese pizza for Friday in Lent). It one fell, devastating swoop the pizzas were utterly consumed. The staff at Monaco lanes could only look on in stunned disbelief as they rallied the kitchens for additional pizzas. In total, Amigos de Jesus got 8 cheese pizzas and nine pitchers of soda.
After eating, it was back to the the business of bowling. The youth played several more games before time was called at around 9:20 p.m. After turning in their balls and shoes, the youth broke up into their separate car pulls and arrived back at the parish by about 9:45 p.m. Thanks so much to everyone who attended for making it such a fun and exciting evening. We will definitely do this again in the future. (Thanks to Jose for creating the image above).
Next week, the youth group will perform the Stations of the Cross for the second time at Annunciation Church. This time the reflections will be given in Spanish. All of the youth are asked to arrive, if at all possible, by 5:30 p.m. in order to practice and help set up.
Pax et bonum!
Br. Joseph
