A First Go at the Stations
>> Saturday, March 6, 2010
The Amigos de Jesus youth group came together on Friday evening, March 5 to put their talent and devotion on display for the parish community. The youth group performed the traditional Stations of the Cross on a temporary wood stage constructed just in front of the sanctuary. Dressed in various costumes depicting Jesus, the Virgin Mary, Pontius Pilate, and more, the youth carefully posed each station as an still image, while other members of the group read the accompanying reflections. In all the evening was a success and the youth learned some valuable lessons which will help them to be even better next time.
After the Stations of the Cross, the youth adjourned in the Hope Room next door to discuss what they liked and disliked about their performance and the way things went overall. The responses were pretty positive overall. The youth ended the evening by singing "Happy Birthday" to Kim who turned 15 years old on March 4 and presenting her with a card they all had signed. Of course ice cream and cake were a given.
There are several important upcoming dates to keep in mind:

There are several important upcoming dates to keep in mind:
- March 12: The youth will gather at Monaco Lanes for a fun evening of bowling, music, pizza, drinks, and more. The cost is $22 per person. If you absolutely can't come up with the money, speak with Br. Joseph
- March 19: The youth will perform the Stations of the Cross for the parish - this time in Spanish. Please plan to arrive by 5:30 pm to help prepare.
- March 26: The youth will host the "Franciscan Players," a visiting youth group from St. Michael's Catholic Church who will perform the Stations of the Cross. If at all possible, the youth are asked to arrive by 3:15 pm to help Br. Joseph cook and to set up.
