Holy Thursday "Lock-In"

Holy Thursday is April 1 and marks the beginning of the Holy Triduum (read more about the Triduum). The Triduum is the solemn three-day long celebration of the Lord's Passion, death and Resurrection from the dead. It begins with Holy Thursday and ends with the Easter Vigil on Saturday night. Following the April 1, Thursday evening Mass, the youth will spend time in Eucharistic Adoration with the rest of the parish before adjoining to the Hope Room for an all night "Lock-In."

The  "Lock-In" will begin with the traditional Seder Meal, a re-enactment of the Jewish Passover meal which Jesus was celebrating at the Last Supper. In addition to the lamb, unleavened matza bread, and bitter herbs, the youth will guided through the symbolic meaning of the ritual meal and helped to see how important it is for understanding the meaning of Jesus words and actions at the Last Supper. In addition, there will be scenes from the feature film "Jesus of Nazareth," food, games, music, prayer, reflections, and more. This can be a great way for entering into these holiest and most solemn of days during the Church's liturgical year.

Please let me know by Tuesday at the latest if you plan to attend the Lock-In. We need to know how much food, etc. to prepare. If you need a copy of the permission slip, let me know. Youth can contact me at one of three ways....
