Warm Weather and Large Numbers

It was a particularly large group that met for the regular session of Amigos de Jesus on Friday, April 21. A lot of new faces were present to greet the summer weather and warm atmosphere in the Hope Room at Annunciation Church. But that didn't stop everyone from having a good time.

The session began with the recitation of the Rosary followed by icebreakers in the outer courtyard. Afterward, the group broke up into two smaller groups for discussion and reflections on Sunday's Gospel. Due to the increasing numbers of the youth group, it was decided that for part of each session the group would break up into two smaller groups. This would allow for discussion and sharing at deeper levels than is often possible in a very large group.

After the group sessions, everyone reunited in the Hope Room. Some shared about what was going on in their life right now and the ways that God was calling them to a deeper commitment to holiness or about their own particular struggles in trying to be faithful. Br. Joseph and Alejandra than talked about the many upcoming events for the youth group this summer.
